Meet Evropi

Professor Evropi Theodoratou is a professor of Cancer Epidemiology and Global Health at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on colorectal cancer: 

“I would normally be working in my office doing data analysis and working with my team to recruit patients in the Lothian Bowel Symptoms Study. I would also be supervising my students and writing papers. Since most of my work is computer-based, working from home has been fine, and I’m able to carry on with the data analysis which is a vital part of my research. 

“My team and I are deeply aware of the impact COVID-19 is having on people with cancer and their families. Despite the challenges, we’re pressing ahead with our research – we’re just as committed to making our next breakthrough. Like many other people who are working from home, we have a lot of virtual meetings and calls, and I’ve been keeping fit by doing Joe Wicks’ PE classes with my daughter!”
