Fire at Cancer Research UK Manchester labs
A large fire broke out at Cancer Research UK’s Manchester Institute on Wednesday. We'd like to reassure our supporters that all our researchers were safely evacuated. Staff are unable to re-enter the building to assess the level of damage until emergency services indicate that it is safe. We'd like to thank the firefighters for their efforts.
If you'd like to donate towards the recovery effort, please give what you can. Your support will bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
"I'm so happy that my mum was able to come to my wedding"
Sadly just two weeks later, and 20 weeks before her grandson was born, she died of lung cancer. "After having a severe cough that wouldn’t go away, she was referred to a specialist who told us the devastating news that she had lung cancer. As mum wasn’t a smoker, lung cancer was the last thing we’d suspected.”
More than 25,000 cancer patients joined one of our clinical trials last year.
