About the project

People with cancer may need unplanned hospital care for many reasons. Treatment side effects or progression of the cancer itself may lead to emergency admissions. For some people, cancer is diagnosed as part of an emergency admission.

We need a better understanding of these experiences to help improve support for the patients involved. Researchers are looking for people affected by cancer to help them carefully consider their research design.

In this role, you’ll:

Join a 1-hour online meeting via Zoom with others who share similar experiences, where your thoughts and opinions on the research will be welcomed.

Read through study documents (i.e. the Participant Information Sheet and consent form) to check they are clear and informative.

Possible option to join an ongoing patient advisory group, which will advise on the research further for the duration of the PhD research (up to 3 years).

What happens next?

Please note that, as they are looking for a diverse group of people, not everyone who contacts the research team will be invited to join the group.
