Professor Adele Fielding

Personalising cancer treatment

Professor Fielding is the Chief Investigator for two major acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) clinical trials in the UK. She is leading a range of projects to study the biology of the disease as well as a clinical trial which will use information from patients to improve treatment for adults with ALL, and ultimately improve survival.

In the clinical trial, Professor Fielding and her team are comparing and combining different types of treatment for ALL, as well as using new chemotherapy drugs. She is also looking at the different genetics in people with cancer and seeing how these are linked with characteristics of each individual patient’s disease. This work, based at University College London, will help uncover the best treatment pathways for each patient and ultimately improve survival.
