Oxford, pledge to leave a gift in your Will

2,223* people in Oxford have left a gift in their Will to Cancer Research UK.

Sue and husband Patrick from Oxford tell us why they have pledged to leave a share of their Will.

After both losing their spouses to cancer, Sue and Patrick met volunteering for Cancer Research UK. It was here loved blossomed, and the couple married in December 2016. Sue tells us why she has decided to leave a share of her Will to Cancer Research UK.

“I feel passionate about the work of Cancer Research UK. I've seen directly the benefit the research can have on both individuals and the wider population. I support Cancer Research UK during my life and want to continue to support their life-saving research after my death.

I have several priorities that I want my Will to address. After taking care of those close to me I have left a share of my estate to Cancer Research UK to help beat cancer for future generations.

I pledge to leave a share of my Will so more couples are together for longer.”

Leaving a share of you Will is called a residuary gift

A residuary gift is less likely to be affected by inflation, so it’s the most valuable way to leave money in my Will. Leaving this type of gift ensures I can make a donation that reflects my commitment to Cancer Research UK.” – Patrick from Oxford

After you have provided for your loved ones, you can leave a share of your Will to Cancer Research UK and help beat cancer for future generations.  This can be an easy way to have greater control over your Will.

Pledge right now to leave a share of your Will

1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime*. Our research saves lives. We’ve come a long way, but we can not rest while people still suffer. That’s why we’re committed to ensuring 3 in 4 people in the UK diagnosed with cancer will survive for 10 years or more by 2034 and, beyond that, even more.

Cancer Research UK receives no government funding, and gifts in Wills account for over a third of our life-saving research. Without them we simply would not be able to undertake all the vital research we do which could one day beat cancer.
