Warehouse Volunteer - Fleet Regional Distribution Centre
This shop has shifts available Monday to Friday.
The role
We’ve recently opened a Regional Distribution Centre in Fleet – this is a place where donated items from the public (like clothes and homeware) are taken and processed centrally in bulk ready for them to be sent out to our high street shops to sell.
We’re looking for keen volunteers to support this exciting opportunity – a chance to be involved in something new and different, help to drive sales to support our research and gain valuable skills along the way.
What you will be doing
While this list is not exhaustive, it gives you a flavour of some of the typical tasks that you could be helping with at the new Regional Distribution Centre:
-
Sorting through donated items, identifying which ones are suitable for sale in our shops or through our online marketplace
-
Getting the items ready for selling – hanging, steaming, pricing, and tagging
-
Learning about our pricing structure and how to get the most from the donated items
-
Assisting our drivers in the collection, delivery and distribution of stock
-
Keeping things tidy, clean and well organised
-
Customer service and support
-
We value our volunteer’s knowledge and experience so if there is a particular area that you are interested in – whether that is a keen eye for photography, or know a lot about books or fashion, have a chat with the team and there may be opportunity to work more closely in that area.
