The CRUK Scotland Institute and Flatiron Health want to meet cancer patients, carers, and the wider community in Scotland to discuss the role that routinely collected health data can play in improving research, outcomes, and experiences for cancer patients.
Flatiron is a company that works with hospitals, patients, charities, and researchers to increase the availability, quality, and use of anonymised health data to improve cancer research and care. They are a UK-based team, part of a global company, and their team includes practicing NHS doctors and nurses. During the session, Flatiron will explain who they are and how they are working with the CRUK Scotland Institute and the NHS, and will be happy to answer any questions about their work.
The team wants to discuss the importance of routinely collected health data in accelerating research and improving outcomes and experiences for cancer patients. They would also like to get the group’s thoughts and feedback, including any concerns about using data in healthcare research.
This is an opportunity to participate in an engaging discussion and contribute to shaping the way health data is utilised for cancer research. The group’s feedback will inform how Flatiron will work with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board going forward.
There are limited spaces for the event, and places are first come, first served, so please register as soon as you can (and before 25 July). The team will be in touch soon to confirm if you have secured a place. In the meantime, if you have any questions about this focus group or would like more information before registering, please contact Emma Salib at emma.salib@flatiron.com.
