About this event:

This adrenaline-fuelled charity challenge is not for the faint-hearted! Prepare to face your fears head on as you step off the legendary Francis Crick Institute building which houses more than 1,500 scientists and support staff from a range of fields, such as structural biology, genetics, mathematics, and computing. Working collaboratively, these researchers are helping to unravel the mysteries behind cancer and other diseases, improving the lives of patients around the world. As you abseil down the 125 feet to the bottom you can take pride in your achievement all while raising funds for Cancer Research UK.

Spaces are limited to 150 participants so please register early for this amazing experience. Participants must be 18 years or over.

On the day:

The event is organised by The City of London Friends of Cancer Research committee who have been fundraising over 35 years for the vital life-saving work that is done by Cancer Research UK.

On the day of the event, you will be welcomed by an enthusiastic team of volunteers before being handed over to professional abseil instructors for kitting up and briefing. By lift you will be taken to the top before coming back down the easy way by rope! At the bottom, your family & friends will be able to cheer you on and take photos too. All participants receive event day photos, medal, and a certificate to mark this special achievement.

Get involved:

The City of London Friends of Cancer Research committee welcome new volunteers. Please do get in touch with Richard Dollimore (Chair of the committee) to find out more: abseil@crukcity.org.uk or if you have any questions about the event.
