Talk Cancer: cancer awareness training programme

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Cancer Research UK supports GPs to deliver best practice. We have created a central resources hub for Health Professionals which hosts all of our CRUK resources and further materials to help with managing the pandemic. We are updating the information as guidance changes. There is also a page specifically for patients on our about cancer hub.

As the coronavirus outbreak continues we're listening to the advice of the UK Government carefully. We'll be postponing all our Talk Cancer face-to-face workshops until further notice. The health and safety of our staff, volunteers and the public are our top priority.

We’re still available to answer any queries about workshops on the contact details as above, plus you can register to join a live online workshop or take our free online course.

Do you want to feel confident to have effective conversations about cancer and health that could help save lives?

Talking more openly about how people can reduce their risk of cancer and spotting cancer early could help save thousands of lives.

If you’re someone who’s able to promote health and well-being in your community - whether you’re a healthcare professional, work or volunteer in your community or are in any role where you discuss health with others - you have the power to make a difference.

Our training will help you to:

  • Talk to people about how they could reduce their risk of getting cancer
  • Help people understand the importance of spotting cancer early and the screening programmes available
  • Have effective, supportive conversations about health in general and encourage people to take positive action for their health

There are various training options available to suit different needs, and we have a bursary scheme to offer free face-to-face and online workshops to eligible groups. Check your groups’ eligibility below.

*Talk Cancer face-to-face workshops are currently postponed until further notice for the health and safety of the public, our staff and volunteers. You can still apply for a funded workshop which will be scheduled when possible.
