Cancer Research UK's Will-Writing Service

Use one of our trusted legal partners to write a simple Will and we’ll pick up the bill. We hope that, in return, you’ll choose to leave a gift in your Will to Cancer Research UK, so we can continue to save and improve lives through our research, information and influence. Most people do. In fact, over a third of the money we raise to beat cancer is from gifts in Wills.

I really appreciated the simplicity of using the service, so I would recommend it to anyone. You can do the whole Will, not just the charity donation so it’s a win-win. Cancer Research UK were very supportive and answered any questions I had, and my Will-writing solicitor was excellent and very approachable too.

Why a percentage share of your estate can make the most impact

A percentage share of your estate is the most valuable gift because it’s inflation-proof and can further help beat cancer for future generations.

One benefit of choosing a percentage gift is that it grows and shrinks in line with the value of everything you own (often referred to as your estate). Therefore, if the value of your estate increases/decreases, the value of the gift increases/decreases in line with this - so you don’t have to worry if your financial circumstances change.

What is a simple Will?

A simple Will is usually a Will where there is no inheritance tax involved due to the value of your estate. It might also be a Will with no complex issues. We recommend talking to a solicitor about what a simple Will means to you.

Gifts in Wills fund over a third of our work

Gifts in Wills play a vital role in funding our work. From early steps towards breast cancer prevention in 1911 to proving the power of the HPV vaccine in 2021, our research would not be possible without the support of legacy giving. By pledging a gift in your Will you are helping to create a future that protects the people you love.

Making future discoveries possible

We fund over 4000 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK. Long term investment is essential to research, without it our scientists wouldn't have been able to make the breakthroughs we've already made. But we aren't done yet. By pledging a gift in your Will you can help us continue to invest in cutting-edge science, driving progress that can change the future.
