What Will I Be Doing?

1 in 2 people will develop cancer in their lifetime. At Cancer Research UK we want to get people talking about cancer and health.

The Talking About Cancer course has been developed by Cancer Research UK experts. Corporate partner employees can learn through quizzes, articles, discussions and videos demonstrating conversational dos and don’ts, to increase their knowledge and confidence in having effective conversations about cancer and health.

The course takes around 3 hours to complete. The content is split into 3 weeks - for 1 hour a week - but this is just a guide and learners can complete the course at their own pace.

By the end of the course, corporate partner employees will be able to:

Summarise simple, reliable facts about cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening
Identify appropriate sources of support and information and signpost people to them
Engage those around you in effective conversations about cancer
Assess the barriers that can prevent people from changing their lifestyle or visiting the doctor, and engage them in a way that encourages them to take action
Develop a plan of action for talking about cancer

If you’d like a promotional poster for the Talking About Cancer course, which can be tailored to your corporate partner with a trackable link to report how many employees took part in the course, or to create a closed course which is only accessible to the corporate partner employees (at a cost) contact below.
