About the panels

The Cancer Insights Panels shape the work of Cancer Research UK to ensure it reflects the needs of people affected by cancer. You'll have the opportunity to share feedback on projects across the charity.

There are two panels: Research & Strategy and Policy & Communications.  Each panel has its own focus on certain types of projects, but you don’t need any prior knowledge or expertise to join either panel.

We're looking for people who

  • Have been affected by cancer, either personally or through a close family member/friend.
  • Want to use their experience to influence and shape our work.
  • Can consider a broad range of people’s cancer experiences.
  • Are currently a resident in the UK.

    You don’t need

    • Any experience of public speaking.
    • Any experience in advocating for cancer patients.
    • Any prior knowledge of CRUK or the work we do.
    • Any prior experience of Patient and Public Involvement.
    • An understanding of research or scientific understanding of cancer.
