More Research, Less Cancer is the philanthropic campaign for Cancer Research UK. We aim to raise £400m, which will play a crucial role in delivering our strategy, enabling research that will make transformative steps forward in how we prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.

Cancer Research UK is the world’s biggest charitable funder of cancer research. Our size means we work at scale, directly funding the best science and scientists, translating discoveries into tests and treatments that can save lives, and leveraging government, corporate, venture capital and partner funding - while remaining resolutely independent. Â
We are making progress. Yet, many cancers and their causes remain a mystery. We must – and will – find the answers.
To do this, we will focus on four key priorities, which support our vision to bring about a world where everybody can lead longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.  Â
Over the past 50 years, our research has played a part in saving the lives of more than 32,000 children and young people in the UK. In the 1970s, less than 4 in 10 children in the UK survived their cancer for 10 years. Today, 8 in 10 do.
But we have a long way to go. Every year in the UK, 4,200 children or young people are told they have cancer. And every year, the disease claims the lives of around 500.
During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’re putting our research in the spotlight and asking philanthropists to partner with us to ensure more children and young people can live longer, better lives.
