Glasgow is home to our world-renowned Scotland Institute where our work spans the whole spectrum of cancer research, from investigating the molecular basis of cancer to developing new treatments.
Our Scotland Centre brings together the expertise of scientists and NHS staff in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It's focusing on finding new ways to prevent, detect and treat hard-to-treat cancers and is determined to make a difference for people with cancer in Glasgow and beyond. The Centre works closely with the local NHS Trusts and Public Health Scotland to close the gap between research and the clinic making the most of crucial data to inform better diagnosis and treatment for people living with cancer.
Glasgow also hosts our Adult and Paediatric Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC), which we jointly support with the National Institute for Health Research in Scotland. Our ECMCs bring together lab scientists and cancer doctors from local NHS trusts and universities to speed up the flow of ideas and new treatments from the lab to the clinic.
