Through the pioneering work of our researchers and doctors in Scotland, we’re determined to make a difference to people with cancer in Scotland and beyond.
Scotland is home to several of our research facilities including our Scotland Centre, as well as our prestigious Scotland Institute in Glasgow. Our researchers in these locations have expertise across a broad range of research areas and cancer types, including bowel and pancreatic cancer. Our scientists in Edinburgh have particular expertise in brain tumour research and many are part of our Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence - a joint initiative between the University of Edinburgh and University College London which is dedicated to the discovery and clinical evaluation of new brain cancer treatments.
Scotland also hosts our Edinburgh and Glasgow Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC), which we co-fund with the health department in Scotland. The ECMCs bring together lab scientists and cancer doctors from local NHS trusts and universities to speed up the flow of ideas and new treatments from the lab to the clinic.
Based in Scotland is our Glasgow Clinical Trials Unit, which is dedicated to deliver innovative and practice-changing clinical research that impacts the care and outcomes for cancer patients in the UK and across the world.
Lastly in Scotland, one of our RadNet centres of excellence can be found in Glasgow. Our RadNet network runs across the UK and aims to improve cancer survival by optimising and personalising radiotherapy.
