People who have had a cancer diagnosis.
Are you passionate about early diagnosis and reducing the risk of cancer? Our Cancer Awareness in the Workplace (CAW) team supports employees across the UK to take positive action for their health. We do this by raising awareness of cancer risk factors and the importance of spotting cancer early.
We’re looking for two Patient Lived Experience Representatives to join our advocate panel. You will work alongside CRUK colleagues and our Cancer Awareness Nurses to make sure the voices of people affected by cancer shape the decisions we make about the programme. You’ll also help deliver online webinars to companies we partner with, sharing your personal cancer experience to help others understand the importance of early diagnosis.
Your insight will help us build messages that are relatable, clear and encourage real action.
Prepare for and take part in quarterly advocate panel meetings with the CAW team.
Share your views, listen to others and help shape decisions about the programme.
Prepare for, co‑deliver and help evaluate around three online webinars (about an hour each) with support from the CAW team.
Share your personal cancer experience confidently in an online setting, helping audiences understand why early diagnosis matters.
Have personal experience of a cancer diagnosis and want to use their experience to inform our work.
Are interested in raising awareness of early diagnosis and reducing cancer risk.
Feel comfortable sharing their experience and opinions over a video call.
Enjoy group discussions and taking part in shared decision‑making.
A scientific understanding of cancer.
Experience on panels or in involvement roles.
Experience of public speaking, webinars or workshops.
A key contact who will answer your questions and support you to prepare for meetings.
An induction pack and welcome call to introduce you to Cancer Research UK and the CAW programme.
Clear, accessible information to help you contribute confidently.
