World Cancer Day Wristband Terms and Conditions

This page, together with the Cancer Research UK website terms and conditions, set out the terms on which Cancer Research UK Trading Limited shall supply World Cancer Day wristbands to you. In the event of any conflict between these two sets of terms, the terms below shall take precedence.

We may amend these terms from time to time and these will come into effect from the time we publish them, so please check this page each time you want to order any wristbands.

Ordering a wristband

When you place an order for a wristband on our website, this represents an offer to us. Your order is only accepted by us, and the contract concluded, when we send e-mail confirmation that we have accepted your order. Any item on the same order which is not referenced in our confirmation e-mail does not form part of that contract. If we cannot supply you with the wristband you ordered because it is out of stock or otherwise unavailable, we will not process your order and will inform you of this via email.

If the wristband you order becomes unavailable once you have placed your order, we will contact you via phone (if you have provided your telephone details) or email. If we are unable to contact you using the contact details provided during the order process, we will treat the order as cancelled and notify you by email.

Please note that we may terminate or suspend the supply of wristbands in the event we run out of stock or for any other reason. We may do this at any time and without notice.

Pricing and Payment

If you are under 18, you may only order a wristband from this website with the supervision of a parent or guardian.

Currently there is no purchase price to obtain a wristband, although you are required to pay the delivery charge (see below). Instead we ask that you also give a donation to Cancer Research UK to help support the charity’s life saving work. We suggest that £2 would be an appropriate amount, but there is no minimum (or maximum) donation requirement to order a wristband. However, please note that we do reserve the right to charge a price for wristbands at any time, although this shall not apply to any orders placed before the time this change is introduced.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and Maestro cards. We do not accept Visa Electron, American Express, Diner's Club or Solo cards. When making your payment, it is imperative that you provide the information that we specify is required, for example, the cardholder's name as it is shown on the card, and address exactly as it appears on the card statement. Your card will be debited when we confirm that we have accepted your order.

All card payments are subject to authorisation by your card issuer. However, if we do not receive your payment and you have already received the item(s) ordered from us, you must pay the relevant charge for the wristbands or return them in accordance with reasonable return instructions that we provide, and in the same condition that you received them at your own expense. If you do not do this within 30 days of the date on which we cancel your order, we may collect or arrange for collection of the wristbands at your expense.

All wristbands ordered through the website will remain our property until we have received payment in full for them.


Standard service delivery is charged at £3.95 to any UK mainland address and Northern Ireland (excluding offshore territories). These charges cover packaging, handling and delivery. Orders are usually processed within 24 hours, and are dispatched to arrive within 5-10 working days.

Next Day delivery is available when an order is placed before 1pm for delivery the next working day, except where an order is placed after 1pm on a Friday, in which case the order shall be dispatched the next Monday to arrive on the Tuesday. Next Day delivery is charged at £7.95 to any UK mainland address and Northern Ireland (excluding offshore territories), and these charges cover packaging, handling and delivery. Next Day deliveries will require a signature on receipt; please ensure someone will be in to sign. We also deliver to countries outside of the UK, but these are subject to different pricing and potential import duties and taxes that we cannot control or predict.

If goods are not received within the timeframes set out above, please contact our customer services department by email at If for any reason we do not deliver any item within 30 days after the day on which we send you our confirmation email (or within any other time period agreed between you and us), you may cancel your order straight away if any of the following apply:

  • we have refused to deliver the item in question;
  • it was essential to you that delivery took place before the delivery deadline referred to above, or other agreed time period(taking into account all the relevant circumstances); or
  • you told us before we accepted your order that delivery before the delivery deadline was essential.

If you do not wish to cancel your order, or are not entitled to do so, you can give us a new deadline for delivery, which must be reasonable, and you can subsequently cancel your order if we do not meet the new deadline.

If you choose to cancel your order as a result of late delivery in the circumstances set out in this clause, you can do so for just some of the items or all of them (where there is more than one item in your order), unless splitting them up would significantly reduce their value.

Where you choose to cancel an order, we will refund any delivery charges you have paid to us. We are unable to refund any donation given, for the reasons stated in the “Returns” section below. If your order has already been delivered to you by the time you choose to cancel, you may have to return the unwanted items to us or allow us to collect them, but we will also pay the costs of this.

Please note that we shall not be responsible for delays outside our control. If delivery of an order is delayed by such an event then we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to minimise the effect of the delay. Provided we do this we will not be liable for delays caused by the event, but if the delay continues for more than 21 days you may cancel your order. If you opt to cancel, you will have to return (at our cost) any relevant items you have already received and we will refund any delivery charges you have paid.


We want you to be completely satisfied with your order. Please let us know if you are not entirely satisfied with your wristband(s) or our service, so that we can rectify the situation.

We try to ensure that the items are the same as our original samples, although sometimes differences do occur. Items are described and photographed as accurately as possible, but please note that sizes, colours and designs may vary.

If you are unhappy with a wristband because it is not as described on the website, fit for purpose or of satisfactory quality, you may request a replacement item at no extra cost provided we have one in stock. Alternatively you are entitled to a refund of your delivery charges if you notify us within 30 days of receipt of the item. However, please note that you will not be entitled to a refund of any donation provided to Cancer Research UK when ordering a wristband, as this donation is an optional payment. It is not a payment for the wristband, and Cancer Research UK is not permitted to return donations in these circumstances.

If you notify us after 30 days of receipt that a wristband is faulty, you will be entitled to a refund of the delivery charges if we can’t repair or replace the wristband.

If you request a replacement or refund, we may ask you to return the original item to us. If we do this, we will also reimburse your costs of returning the item to us once we receive this back and agree that the item is defective. When returning goods, please retain proof of postage. Without this we cannot be responsible for any items that fail to reach us.

Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or if it was contemplated at the time the contract was entered.

We only supply the products for domestic and private use. You agree not to use the product for any commercial, business or resale purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

We do not in any way exclude or limit our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any breach of your statutory rights under sections 9-11, 13 and 14 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (i.e. items must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and match any description, samples and/or model provided); or (d) defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

Personal Information

Any order you place for wristbands will be handled on our behalf by Orbital Marketing Services Group Limited “OMSG” of Orbital Park, Ashford, Kent, TN24 0GA. Your personal details will therefore be held by OMSG for the purposes of fulfilling your order, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.


These terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the parties hereto submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in all disputes arising out of or relating to any order for a wristband, or these terms.
