Cancer specific

UK Oncology Nursing Society (UKONS)

UKONS supports and facilitates the development of all registered nurses providing cancer care through education, research and policy. Members receive regular newsletters and access to educational initiatives and networks.


National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI)

The NCRI was set up to promote and encourage collaboration and communication within the cancer research community.



The RCNi is the education and learning arm of the Royal College of Nursing. Publications include Cancer Nursing Practice and Nursing Standard (subscriptions needed).


Royal Marsden School

The Royal Marsden School has a range of CPD courses and study days to support those working with cancer patients, including Advanced Communications Skills Training.



Clinfield offers introductory and development courses and training for research practitioners including lab skills, informed consent and patient recruitment.


Science Communicated Ltd

Elaine Vickers delivers face-to-face and online education on cancer biology and the science behind cancer treatments to support your conversations with patients.


Scottish Cancer Research Network

Part of NHS Research Scotland, the Scottish Cancer Research Network aims to improve and sustain clinical cancer trial activity. Find out about the latest studies and cancer research training events.


NHS R&D Forum 

The NHS R&D Forum supports those who lead and deliver quality health research, and hosts training courses, a directory and events including its annual conference.


National Institute of Research (NIHR)

Find out how the NIHR supports and celebrates clinical research nurses, and access national learning programmes, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

UK Clinical Research Facility Network (UKCRF)

Funded by the NIHR, the UKCRF network brings together those working in clinical research facilities across the UK.


Royal College of Nursing (RCN)

International Association of Clinical Research Nurses (IACRN)

The IACRN supports and promotes clinical research nursing as a speciality practice. Members can access a range of tools and resources to support their practice and development.


Health and Care Research Wales

Health and Care Research Wales has its own training and development courses for those involved in clinical research.


Scottish Research Nurse & Co-ordinators Network (SRNCN)

A forum for research nurses, co-ordinators and others involved with clinical trial research in Scotland to network and share knowledge.
