Make a difference in your community

Cancer Research UK is looking for passionate, organised and community-minded people to support a local supporter with the ‘Turn Quorn & Sileby Pink!’ campaign from 1st and 16th September 2026.

This exciting initiative brings local people and businesses together to raise awareness and funds for life-saving cancer research — and you could play a key role in making it happen. Last years campaign involved nearly 40 businesses and raised £8K and we’re looking for someone to help expand the campaign to new businesses, schools and local community groups.

Every step towards beating cancer depends on every pound, every hour and every person. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and supporters, Cancer Research UK currently funds over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK.

If you’d like to get involved in something rewarding, meet new people, and have fun while making a real difference, the ‘Turn Quorn & Sileby Pink & Blue 2026 campaign could be perfect for you.

What you'll do

You’ll help plan and deliver the ‘Turn the Town Pink & Blue!’ campaign This may include:

  • Supporting the planning and organisation of campaign activities

  • Encouraging local businesses, retailers, hospitality venues and community groups to get involved

  • Promoting the campaign through local media and social channels

  • Inspiring others in the community to take part and support the cause

What we're looking for

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Enthusiasm for community engagement and fundraising

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A passion for supporting Cancer Research UK’s mission

Where is the role based?

This is a home-based role in, Quorn or Sileby or the surrounding areas, with some time spent in the community attending committee meetings, meeting local businesses and supporting fundraising events.

Time commitment

This is a flexible volunteering opportunity. The time you commit can be discussed with your Local Relationship Manager, and we’ll help you find the best way to contribute.

Whether you take on a specific role or simply help when you can, every volunteer plays an important part in helping us beat cancer sooner.
