We’re particularly interested to hear from people on lower incomes (for example, those who receive income support, are unemployed), and those who have current or past experience of key risk factors for cancer, such as smoking, overweight and obesity, or alcohol use.

Closing date: Thursday 30 October @ 23.59pm

Background - Why cancer prevention matters

Many cancers in the UK can be prevented. That’s why it’s so important that governments across the UK take action to help people avoid cancer in the first place.

Cancer Research UK’s prevention policy team works to reduce the number of people who develop cancer by focusing on the biggest preventable risk factors; like smoking, obesity, and alcohol. We use the latest evidence to shape policy and influence government decisions across the UK.

Our plan - Shaping the next 5 years

We’re developing a strategy to guide our prevention work over the next five years. To make sure we’re focusing on the right areas, we want to hear from the public and people affected by cancer.

Why your views matter

We want to ensure our work reflects what people really need to live healthier lives and reduce their risk of cancer. Your input will help us identify the most important policy changes.

Health without blame

We believe no one should be judged or blamed for their health. Many factors that affect our health are beyond our control. That’s why we focus on what governments can do to create healthier environments for everyone.

What you need to do

Please take part in our short survey to share your views on what Cancer Research UK should focus on. You don’t need any prior knowledge - just your honest opinions. Your anonymous responses will help shape our work for the next five years.

Deadline to take part

This survey will close at 23:39 on Thursday, 30 October.
