Vanessa's Story
I’ve entered the Great Bristol 10k as I wanted to give something back to cancer research and to raise awareness.
I did my first run 4 years ago, so I am not completely new to running and it will be great to run in such a popular event with so many other people doing it for great causes.
I have chosen to run for Cancer Research UK because my auntie was diagnosed with breast cancer late last year, she had the lump removed along with 3 lymph nodes with 1 having cancer in. Therefore, she has had to undergo chemotherapy and will soon begin radiation therapy.
She has been incredibly strong and brave throughout the treatment process by taking everything in her stride and I am so proud of her, she has been a true inspiration for those fighting cancer. I want to be able to raise money that will help continue lifesaving research and to be able to help give back for the amazing treatment and support my auntie has received.
