Radiotherapy uses high energy x-rays to kill ovarian cancer cells. You might have radiotherapy after surgery to kill off cancer cells left behind and so lower the risk of the cancer coming back. Or it can be used to shrink tumours and relieve symptoms if your cancer has spread.
