Tests to diagnose

You might have one or more of these tests to diagnose kidney cancer.

Ultrasound scan

Ultrasound scans use high frequency sound waves to make a picture of organs inside your body. See how you have this test.

CT urogram

You may have a CT scan of your urinary system, called a CT urogram. See how you have this test.

Cystoscopy

Your doctor uses a cystoscopy to look inside your bladder. 

Kidney biopsy

Your doctor might carry out this test to help confirm your diagnosis, or if you are due to have treatment for kidney cancer that has spread.
