Why we need you:

Every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound, every hour and every person. We need you to help us by volunteering in the heart of your community.

What will you be doing?

Below are a few examples of how you could use your skills to get involved

  • Planning and coordinating fundraising activities as a team

  • Attending events as the local face of Cancer Research UK

  • Using your local knowledge to help promote fundraising events in your area

  • Encouraging others to support Cancer Research UK

The type of person we are looking for:

Do you love being part of a team, have good communication skills and are well networked within your local community?  Do you love to socialise and meet new people?  Do you enjoy planning or supporting events with others?  We’re looking for well organised, self-motivated volunteers with a genuine passion and enthusiasm for fundraising and for the work of Cancer Research UK.

What you can expect from Cancer Research UK:

  • An induction and ongoing support and guidance from your Relationship Manager as well as your fellow group members.

  • Advice on how to set up and promote a variety of fundraising events.

  • The opportunity to develop new and existing skills and a chance to meet new people.

  • We will reimburse agreed out of pocket expenses

Where will this role be based?

This is a home-based role but you will be expected to attend fundraising group meetings and events in Basildon (usually no more than monthly).  Part of your role will include you being ‘out and about’ in the community e.g. attending collections, booking venues, sourcing prizes, promoting your events.
