Challenge
We're seeking the bravest of our supporters to take on a challenge like no other and raise funds for our vital work.
The event is organised by The City of London Friends of Cancer Research committee, and they've fundraised for us for over 35 years.
This adrenaline-fuelled charity challenge is not for the faint-hearted!
Prepare to face your fears head-on as you step off the legendary Francis Crick Institute building, which houses more than 1,500 scientists and support staff from a range of fields, such as structural biology, genetics, mathematics, and computing.
Working collaboratively, these researchers are helping to unravel the mysteries behind cancer and other diseases, improving the lives of patients globally.
As you abseil down 125ft to the bottom, you can take pride in your achievement - all while raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Spaces are limited to 150 participants, so please register early for this amazing experience!
On the day of the event, you'll be welcomed by a team of volunteers before being handed over to professional abseil instructors for kitting up and briefing.
You'll then be taken by a lift to the top, before coming back down the easy way - by rope! At the bottom, your family and friends will be able to cheer you on and take photos.
All participants receive event day photos, a medal, and a certificate to mark this special achievement.
This event is organised by supporters on behalf of Cancer Research UK with the assistance of our staff.
The City of London Friends of Cancer Research committee would welcome new volunteers. So please get in touch with Richard Dollimore (Chair of the committee) to find out more.
You can email them at abseil@crukcity.org.uk if you have any questions about the event or would like to volunteer. By registering for this event, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the event rules(PDF, 133 KB).
