Other ways to get involved

We work hard all year to help beat cancer sooner and there are plenty of ways you can help us. By donating your cash, your time or your pre-loved goods, you can bring us closer to the day all cancers are cured.

Caroline, 24, Researcher

Caroline is a researcher funded by Cancer Research UK. "My mum is a cancer survivor and I ran my first ever 5k for Cancer Research UK in my early teens with her. Working within a research laboratory has made me very aware of how expensive research is, which has encouraged me to raise/donate money to Cancer Research UK when I can."

Parminder, 33, Cancer Survivor

Parminder was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2011 when she was 28. She was treated with temozolomide, discovered by Cancer Research UK scientists. Parminder says, "I'm so grateful for the work that Cancer Research UK does and the fundraising which makes that work possible."

David, 23, Shop Volunteer

David, 23, volunteers at his local Cancer Research UK shop. "I have a lot to thank Cancer Research UK for. At 14 I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. After long chemo and radiotherapy sessions and surgery the tumour was removed. In 2008 I took and passed my GCSEs. That is why I volunteer for Cancer Research UK."

Staff at Warburtons

Last #GivingTuesday, Warburtons encouraged staff from their 26 UK-wide sites to give to charity through Payroll Giving. Staff love giving to Cancer Research UK in this way as they know their money will be spent locally, so the donations from staff at their Bolton bakery for example, will be spent on research down the road in Manchester.

Warburtons' staff have raised an incredible £385,000 for Cancer Research UK over the past two years. This has been driven by 12 dedicated charity chamption teams, who are the face of the charity within the business and inspire colleagues to ge involved in fundraising.

Warburtons' staff have all rallied behind the cause. "Cancer affects all of us and it feels good to know that we're helping to give more families more time together." Nicola Atkinson, Community and Communications Co-ordinator at Warburtons.
