Be Clear on Cancer: bowel cancer campaign

The Be Clear on Cancer brand has been used to promote awareness and early diagnosis of bowel cancer at a local and regional level since 2011, before becoming the first national Be Clear on Cancer campaign to be launched in England.
The first national NHS campaign to raise awareness of the symptoms of bowel cancer, and to encourage people who have the key symptoms to go to their doctor straight away, ran from January to March 2012. The next phase of activity was a national ‘reminder’ campaign which ran on TV and radio from 28 August to the end of September 2012. Since then, three areas of England have been piloting different approaches to keep the campaign running until mid-March 2013.
