Cancer awareness for you and your community
Our work in the community helps to empower and encourage people to make choices that could reduce their risk of cancer and increase the chances of detecting it early.
We do this by engaging the public face-to-face through our Cancer Research UK Cancer Awareness Roadshow, and through training community-based health workers who are ideally placed to help deliver cancer awareness messages to people who are most at risk.
Using our expertise as the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research, we have created evidence-based cancer awareness and early diagnosis workshops. These workshops can provide community-based health staff with the knowledge and confidence to talk to the public about cancer.
Our mobile roadshow units visit some of the UK’s most deprived and diverse communities.
We provide a welcoming environment for people to come onboard and speak to our trained cancer awareness nurses about spotting cancer early, prevention and screening.
