Cardiff Cancer Research UK Centre
The Cancer Research UK Centre in Cardiff is a collaborative network of leading scientists, doctors and nurses from across the city. They are working together to share their expertise and knowledge to improve the care of cancer patients across Wales and beyond. The Centre is a partnership between Cancer Research UK, Cardiff University, Velindre NHS Trust and Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust.
Teams at the Centre will focus on research into leukaemia as well as bowel, breast and urological cancers - such as prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. They will translate lab discoveries to develop effective new ways to diagnose and treat cancer. A particular strength will be research into key genes that cause cancer, which will help doctors tailor treatment more precisely to individual patients.
