Events Assistant scheme
Help us beat cancer sooner
Work as an Events Assistant at the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating all types of cancer.
Take a step forward and kick-start your career working as an Events Assistant (EA) at the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating all types of cancer. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain world-class hands-on experience working on some of the country’s leading events.
In the fight against cancer, every moment counts and with our scheme you will play an integral role in the successful planning and delivery of Race for Life, the largest women-only mass participation event in the world. Our nationally recognised events, which includes 5K, 10K and Pretty Muddy, raise in excess of £50 million every year, enabling us to save more lives.
Our events team is split into nine regional teams, each supported by an Events Manager and a dedicated team of Event Assistants. With positions all over the UK and Scotland, there will be a role for you.
The event season runs from May 2016 – September 2016 and you will be required to work at an allocated number of events throughout this period.
What's in it for you?
Over the course of the event season, successful applicants will gain experience in course management, start and finish management and volunteer management. You will become part of a dedicated events team who are experts in their field, have great fun and develop and deliver inspiring events which bring together communities, survivors and those who have been touched by cancer.
You will also be provided with a Cancer Research UK induction, specific event delivery training and have the opportunity to forge great contacts and network within the UK’s largest charity.
In this exciting and challenging role, you can help us bring forward the day when all cancers are cured whilst also gaining experience in managing time-pressured projects, building confidence, communication and relationship management skills.
