Be Digital at Cancer Research UK

The digital revolution is happening all around us and is changing the way we live and work, which requires organisations like Cancer Research UK to connect with their ‘customers’ in engaging ways through all types of devices, to remain relevant.

For Cancer Research UK to achieve its goal – three in four people to survive the disease in the next 20 years – we need to accelerate everything that we do. Whether that’s our scientific research, fundraising or cancer prevention initiatives our customers’ will be at the heart of this progress.

To ensure we remain committed to this vision digital can no longer be a job title but part of everyone's job. Our hub & spoke operating model is about transferring digital skills to teams across the entire charity and working with them to deliver user-centric digital experiences in a lean and iterative way. This investment is reflective of the criticality of digital as a key enabler of CRUK’s strategic and operational priorities.

What's in it for you?

It’s a great time to be thinking about a career with us. Cancer Research UK is a large and dynamic charity employing over 3,500 staff. We have an ambitious five-year strategy and challenging goals to achieve, and we need talented individuals to share and drive our success over the next five years and beyond.

We aim to think about the processes we have in place already, that have served us well to now, and to re-think them for the 21st century. This allows us to create new ways of working that enable autonomy, flexibility and pace.

We are building digital products that will underpin our future growth in the fundraising, events and content space. Through these products we will enable the whole organisation to become more digital, and have accountability for the outcomes they are driving in the digital space. Our ambition is to adopt a digital mindset across everything we do, which means learning through iteration, being active in our approach, and most importantly putting our customers’ experience at the heart of our thinking.

We’re looking for ambitious, collaborative individuals who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Alongside your relevant experience you’ll bring a real passion for all things digital, and most importantly putting our customers’ experience at the heart of your thinking.

Culture overview

We believe in our vision: to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. It’s big and audacious, but we have a plan of attack, and day by day, we are breaking down cancer. This is what gets us up in the morning and unites us. We don’t have organisational values or behaviours – instead – a set of Beliefs which guide the way we work:

United we are stronger than cancer

Smart minds and brave hearts win

Our stories change the world
