Pregnancy after the father's chemotherapy

My husband had chemotherapy 6 months ago, and now I'm pregnant. Would his treatment have harmed the baby?

No, it is not likely to have harmed the baby. Some research studies have looked at children born to people after they have had chemotherapy. The studies didn't find any differences between these babies and babies born to couples who have not been treated for cancer.

You can talk to your midwife or obstetric consultant. They should be able to arrange a detailed ultrasound scan as early as possible in your pregnancy which should help to put your mind at rest.
