Canelim capsules to treat cancer
My mum has been told there is nothing they can do to treat her cancer of the bile duct. I have seen an alternative therapy called Canelim on the web that claims to treat cancer. Have you heard of this and does it work?
When a doctor says there is no further treatment available to help you, it can be very difficult to accept. In this situation, many people do look for alternative therapies.
Canelim (Ping Xiao) capsules are a Chinese herbal remedy that some people claim will shrink tumours and promote blood circulation. But there is no reliable scientific research to support this claim. The makers say that the capsules can be taken alongside conventional cancer treatments. Some websites talk about clinical trials or studies that have been done, but they don't give any meaningful information about them. All new cancer treatments have to be thoroughly tested and this treatment doesn't appear to have been. It may also have side effects or interact with other cancer treatments.
Taking Canelim capsules can be expensive. Bought over the internet they seem to cost about £85 for a month's supply.
People with cancer can be very vulnerable. It is understandable that patients or relatives will try anything if they think it might work against cancer. People really do want to believe that they work. But Canelim capsules cannot treat a cancer and they can cost a lot of money.
