In bits....

Got told today I've gotta have a radical vulvectomy..has anyone else had this done,I'm so scared

  • Hello Racheal,

How are you feeling now you've had chance to sleep on this news for a couple of days?

It's understandable that you have been feeling scared about things. I have had a look through the website and unfortunately we haven't had anyone post about this type of procedure for a few years and none of those members are still active.

We do however have some information on our website including support groups which I've linked for you here. Given that the type of cancer you have is rare, particularly for your age, they may be able to help with some specific support.

In the meantime please do feel free to post here. If we can help with information we certainly will and we are always here to offer support and a friendly ear if you want to chat or offload.

    Sending you best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn,

Still not sure its actually sunk in,it feels so unreal..I've cried but don't know why its very strange..yeah my surgeon said its rare and extremely rare for my age. I'm due too have the surgery on 4th April not sure how I feel about it but do feel alone although I know I'm not. I will look at the links you have sent me. Thank you xx

  • Hi Racheal,

It's entirely normal for things to take a while to sink in and not knowing why you're crying is normal too. You've got a lot going on!

We've had a new member [@Carolw10]‍ join this week and I wanted to try and link the two of you up. You can find her thread here
