Tnbc

anyone else triple negative ?

  • Hello Riktik,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope that some our members who have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer will see your message and come and share their story with you.

I did a little search for you and found that [@Chasco]‍ posted recently and mentioned in her thread that she had been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and treated two years ago so she could be a good person for you to talk to.

Feel free also to join the conversation in [@Annibee]‍ 's thread here. You will find other ladies there who also have triple negative breast cancer like [@Sooty53]‍ or [@reticentfish]‍.

Our information on triple negative breast cancer may also be of interest to you and you can read more about it here.

I hope you will get chatting soon with some of our other TNBC ladies.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Hi Riktic,

yes me. I have just finished FEC-t and are due to start radiotherapy on Thursday.

It is scary, but do-able. The nursing staff are brilliant and you will be assigned your own team, who will help you with anything your not sure of.

I am here if you want to chat, you can message me, which is one to one, or just post on the forum and there is always someone willing to chat with you.

    Best wishes to you

    Doreen

    Hi Riktic

I too had this diagnosis, initially had lumpectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy and 15 sessions of Radiotherapy in 2014

sadly I was one with f the small percentage who get a recurrence so in July last year I had a mastectomy and as of last week I can say I completed 8 cycles of FEC-T chemotherapy.

Its a rocky road at times but you will have an amazing team caring for you and nothing is too much trouble, always someone to talk to and to give advice and support. I had my care in Coventry and I couldn't have been given better treatment.

This forum is great for answering questions, making friends and getting useful information and support, you are not alone.

Good luck, you are strong and you can do this, it may be a roller coaster ride but you will be OK

    Much love

    Annibee

  • Hi Mich

I'm having my 1st Fec tomorrow morning, I'm nervous but also ready to start this journey.

How can I find the thread as it would be good to chat to others who are or have gone through it

    L xx

  • Hi L

Our thread is under 'introduce yourself' Just been diagnosed, BC - triple negative

good luck for tomorrow morning, will be thinking of you.  I was also very nervous the first time, but the nurses and staff are so lovely and make you so comfortable.  I have in my lymph nodes so my chemo slightly different to yours but i'm also having chemo first then opp then radiotherapy.  So a long road but as the other girls have reminded me, just think about one step at a time otherwise it does get over whelming.

Have you got other support?  I down loaded the BECCA app which is good for advice and stops me googling and scaring the s**** out of my self unnecesary. Excuse spelling, still have chemo brain lol!

    Hugs for tomorrow xx

  • Thank you Mich I found it and posted on there :)

I have just downloaded the BECCA app too, I have stopped myself googling about triple negative because it is literally all negative lol.

I have a lovely supportive family and friends and are really positive like me but they cant know how i am feeling deep down as they aren't going through it, well my mum actually does know as she had the same in feb! Shes just come through the other side and looks amazing and now i am going through it. They didnt do any genetic testing on her as no family history but they are going to test me now to see if i am BRCA +.
