We have had many discussions within the community about swollen glands, lymph nodes and lumps so hopefully some of our members who are contending with similar symptoms at the moment will be along soon to share their experiences and offer their support and advice.

In the meantime, I just want to wish you all the best with your ultrasound. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long to have it done and the results bring good news when they come through.

Hi thanks Steph, I had my ultrasound a few weeks ago and my doctor phoned me yesterday and said I have to have an urgent 2 week referral to a head and neck specialist. Do you know what this means? What sort of things would they be looking for? Thanks for your help

We have some general information about urgent referrals on our website but to find out more about the head and neck specialist and what they may be looking for, I would suggest giving our team of cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very helpful and will do all they can to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.
