  • Hello 543 and a warm welcome to our forum,

What a week it must have been for you. I am so sorry to hear your dad has been diagnosed with terminal bladder cancer. I can imagine this is all a bit overwhelming for you to suddenly find yourself with your dad at home. Being a carer is not easy as many on our forum will tell you but I am sure you will be great and that your dad appreciates having you by his side. There is some useful information on this section of our website which is dedicated to family, friends and caregivers. It is also really important that you manage to find time to take care of yourself and find some time to recharge your own batteries as you can read on this page

It might be worth getting in touch with CarersUK for example who will have some great tips and advice for you. They have an excellent Help and Advice page here

I hope that you will hear from other members who have been in a similar situation before and have also looked after a terminally ill parent or relative. It does help to get some tips also from others who have done it all before. I hope you won't mind but I have slightly changed your title to make it slightly more specific and attract more relevant replies from our members.

We're all here for you 543 anytime you want to reach out to others who understand what you are currently going through.

    Best wishes,
