I was diagnosed in July 2015 with stage 1c Ovarian Cancer.
I can honestly say the waiting game after acne etc has got to be the worst.
Destended tummy and a dragging feeling at right side of my groin area made me visit my GP he felt I had a large ovarian cyst so bloods were taken and results came back as my
CA125 was raised.....this doesn't always mean you have cancer.
After a visit to my consultant in the Gynaecologiy dept he explained all details about my scan etc and arranged for a Radical Hysterectomy with removal of the omentum.
Inwas admitted few days later and had to say I didn't even feel I had anything done at all
He was amazing, explained everything to me and said results would be back in a few days.
Came back it was a blow to be told stage IcOvarian Cancer.
He also requested that I had an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy too which I did and praise the lord they came back clear.
I then attended xxx under and they explained everything to me regards chemotherapy, side affects etc and date was arranged
Chemotherapy started over a three week period, have to say it did go by fast.
I did loose my hair but thanks to the wigs I was out and about.
Good news is my hair came back would say about 4months after treatment stopped you see the shiny head getting darker lol
On the February 2016 I was told I was cancer free, praise the lord.
Oct 2017 I returned to my wonderful job in the NHS now with a full head of hair lol.
