Hi - I noticed a large lump - not sore - on my neck about a month ago. I went to the GP immediately. She gave me a course of antibiotics which made no difference. Then she sent me for a scan yesterday. This morning my GP rang to ask me to come in to discuss the results. I was told there was 'cause for concern'. Meantime, I have an appt at the ENT in 4 days time for an examination plus a biopsy. I cannot help fearing the worst and am so anxious.
UPDATE: I had my appt at the ENT where the Doctor used the camera - up my nose and down my throat. At then end of it all he said 'you have a blocked salivary gland - you don't have cancer'. He then said he would send me for another scan plus biopsy as otherwise I 'would not believe him'. I had the other scan & the biopsy and it came back as yes, I have a blocked saliva gland but with two cancerous lymph nodes. I am utterly gutted. I was so relieved when I was initially told it was 'just a blocked salivary gland'. I will keep updating as & when.
