Worried sick!

Hi, went for a CT for gall stones and it was noted that I had a lesion on my liver.  Went 3 months later, privately and the consultant stated that it was a haemongioma he wasn't concerned.  When pushed for confirmation, he said only an MRI could determine.  Went to my GP who said he probably seen my cheque book but anyway he would have to follow up on NHS.  Went for the MRI IN Dec and have been told to go for another in 4 months to make sure haemongioma is static.  Don't know what to think.  So afraid.

    Hi Joeyla,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your worries.

This does not always indicate bad news. I have had this problem for the past 24 years and, it possibly would never have been picked up if I didn't have to have gall bladder surgery. This is a benign lesion and small ones don’t need to be treated, although larger ones may require surgery. It is common to monitor this condition routinely, to ensure that all stays the same. Mine hasn’t changed in this time.

I hope that yours will stay the same too.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
