Worried it’s ovarian cancer

Have had mildly bloated tummy which comes and goes for months but as I have IBS and going through peri menopause I put it for to that. Over the summer had niggly period type pains throughout the month and then 4 weeks ago I started with period pains 2 days before period and they never went away. A few days later my stomach felt huge and bloated. I am only a size 8/10 so it's not massively noticeable but I can tell with tightness of trousers. Booked appointment with GP and in the meantime have terrified myself by googling. I have all ovarian cancer symptoms. Just been in for appointment and she had a good feel and said she couldn't feel anything but the area I winced at is the pelvis, bladder, womb and ovaries. She is sending me for a scan but said it will be ages. She also added a test to my blood tests ( being done in 2 weeks) she didn't tell me what the test was but I saw it and I know it's a cancer marker one. I am so scared,

  • Hi

I am very similar to you.  I have Ulcerative Colitis and my discomfort in my abdomen started at the end of July.  I had an ultrasound that was clear and my CA125 levels reduced from 77 to 50.  My gynae consultant diagnosed Adenomyosis and offered a Myrina coil or hysterectomy, neither one appealled to me at the time as I wasn't having any pain.  Fast forward to now and I am in constant discomfort in my abdomen and my pelvic area feels very heavy.  I have had to push for further tests and am having a ct at the beginning of December.  I just want to know what is going on.

Do you have any pain when you are walking?  Is the pain gradually moving position? Mine started in the upper abdomen and now round my belly button and pelvic area.

If you are worried ring and chase your gp.
