Hello everyone, I'd just like to share a situation I'm fretting about.

A few months ago I was diagnosed with h pylori in my stomach. I took medication which cleared it but my stomach problems persisted so I was referred for a gastroscopy.

I had this procedure a few days ago. After it a nurse talked me through the results and gave me a report to take home. They found some mild non-erosive gastritis and other than that all normal. "No evidence of cancer" was great to see and hear. Also comforting to hear I was being taken off the fast track and referred back to the care of my GP. They took samples for biopsy but the message was this was routine and there was nothing to worry about unduly. Definitely no cancer suspected. 

So all in all, pretty relieved!

However I have just found out from my GP surgery that I have been booked in for a follow up appointment with the endoscopy unit. The appointment is rather swift too. It's in 2 weeks.

Looking at the NHS info on gastroscopies it says the following for getting the results of any biopsy taken -

"If you had cells removed for testing, called a biopsy, it can take up to 2 months to get the results. If doctors think you may have cancer you’ll get the results in 2 weeks."

And it appears I am getting the results in 2 weeks.

I'm hoping there can be non-sinister reasons for the quick appointment but I can't help being dreadfully worried. Any feedback (reassuring or otherwise) very welcome.
