Womb cancer

Out of the blues in September had a massive bleed, g.p. fantastic sent me to the local hospital who inform me within 4 weeks that I have cancer, coming to terms with it slowly, booked in for operation but need to have breathing test before hand and that's been delayed because I was daft enough to catch a cold, I still find myself thinking mainly of disbelief

  • Hello Happyjune3 and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat,

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It's great that your GP was so good and that they acted quickly. It's hard to come to terms with news like this and for it to sink in but you have come to the right place to meet others hopefully who have also been affected by womb cancer, who have had the operation before and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

There is information on our website on womb cancer which may be useful to you. In particular, you may want to read more about surgery for womb cancer and there is a lot of in-depth information on our website to help you prepare for the surgery. If there is anything you would like to ask or talk about, don't hesitate to give our cancer nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I will now let our members who have been affected by womb cancer will come and say hello and share their story with you.

Keep us updated if you get a chance on how things progress for you. I hope your cold gets better - it was unlucky timing! - and that you can have that breathing test soon so you can go to your surgery.

Best of luck for your surgery when you have it. I hope it all goes well for you.

    Best wishes,
