Hi, my wife has been diagnosed with cancer in her pancreas (neck) and liver. She is being offered palliative chemo (after biopsy completed)
can anyone advise if this will extend her time with us and can anyone advise life expectancy
Regards
Tom

Hi Tom,
So sorry to read about your wife's recent diagnosis.
I'm afraid the only people who can properly answer your questions are the clinicians who are looking after her. I asked exactly those questions during my first meeting with my Oncologist when he had the results of my CT scan and biopsies. Without access to those results, and the resultant staging and grading information, anyone would be just guessing.
My own experience with palliative chemo was very positive, but every case is different and there seems to be an element of luck involved due to the number of variables caused by the difference between individual patients and their individual cancers.
Best wishes to you both
Dave
