Unfortunately I can't answer this question, but our cancer nurses may be able to give some insight so do give them a call if you'd like to talk things through with them. They're available Monday - Friday, 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

Do be sure to have a chat with your doctor again as well as they are in the best position to tell you more, having spoken directly with the radiologist that made this request.
