Weakness in legs - feel OK, but can hardly walk

Hi everyone,

Was diagnosed with brain tumour two months ago. Feel not too bad in myself and have done 1 week radio and some chemo so far.

Problem is that my legs have gradually turned to jelly and I find that if I sit down for more than 20 minutes, when I get up, my legs are very weak. Sometimes I forget, try to walk off and almost (or do) collapse as my legs give way.

I wondered if anyone else has experienced this. Maybe I should get a wheel chair, but feel too proud at the moment which I know is silly. I suppose I am worried that once I get in a wheelchair, I won't get back use of legs again? Funnily enough, sometimes I can  get walking, I can do a mile, e.g. to newsagent and back, OK. Othertimes, I can make it from one end of the house to the other.

I wondered if anyone else has experienced this weakness in their legs and what they do about it.

Thanks in advance everyone,
