Hi I’m new to the forum and a little unsure of everything. Last week I was at my dermatologist for two moles on my toes. He was unsure of them but said because they were awkward to get to he would photograph them for analysis. And asked if I had any others . I showed the one on my back and he decided to remove it straight away as it was very ‘striking’ internal stitches and 9 exterior stitches later it was done. He booked me back in for 6 weeks time and was sent on my way. So will I find out in 6 weeks about my results ? Or will I find out sooner if something comes back? It was all quite a shock and I didn’t think to ask at the time? Everyone keeps teling me that I would have heard back by now if it was bad news but I’m not so sure?

thanks for reading x

The appointment has been made for 6 weeks to give it time to come back. If it comes back a lot sooner they may bring the appointment forward. The length of time it takes has no bearing in whether it's good or bad news I'm afraid so it's a waiting game. Sadly people think they are being helpful with remarks like 'no news is good news' but it doesn't work like that! Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

I know. All I can suggest is that you keep yourself busy to distract yourself. Throw yourself into work or a favourite hobby. Go out for a walk in the fresh air or try some meditation or yoga, anything that takes your mind off it, even if only in the short term. Hopefully you won't have to wait the whole 6 weeks xx

Thanks, the stitches are in a really crappy place so I can’t do too much, I keep stretching and hurting myself . Had to take time off work to heal too as I am a support worker and do a lot of manual handling . Get the stitches out tomorrow so hoping I’m back on my feet in no time x
