Visible lump under armpit (male 41years)

A few months I felt pain in my shoulder, a month ago and up until now it's hurrendous pain and can hardly deal with it any longer. I found a visible lump and my doctor referred me to hospital straight away.

I have had ultrasound and a ct but was unable to see anything however a couple of spiked chemicals was present in my blood but apart from that they said everything seemed fine.

the lump has got bigger pushing on my nerves to my shoulder blade. I'm really worried as my father had exactly the same symptoms, antibiotics didn't work the same as me as he developed lymphoma and died a few years after.
the hospital have also made it clear this 'could' be the start of lymphoma so now looking at my father I'm in pieces

  • Hello L.m.80,

It's reassuring that after the ultrasound and CT scan they have said that everything was fine but I can understand why you are worried and need some definite answers especially given your family history. But it may be something completely different to what sadly happened to your father. I am sorry to hear though that the lump has got bigger and this definitely needs to be looked into.

I hope you get some proper answers soon and that you don't have to wait too long to find out what is going on. Try and keep busy and focused on other things while you are waiting and avoid looking anything up online as this will only exacerbate your anxiety.

Hopefully you will hear from other members of the forum who have been through something similar and they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
