Very worried about missed cervical

Hi everyone I'm new here, I might sound crazy my anxiety is so bad right now as I'm in so much pain :( 2 months ago I had a smear test which was a horrible experience but thankfully it came back clear, after 3 weeks I started experiencing severe pelvic pain, the pain didn't go  Iv been to a and e twice which they done a pelvic exam and said it looked clear so the next step was a outbound ultrasound. After weeks of pushing to get the scan i finally got a cancellation and went to my internal ultrasound which I was a relief that it come back normal.
a month later the pain got bareable and I just had a dyll ache in my right side pelvic which leaves me with last week I had debilitating pains again and constant urges to go pee, back to the hospital again and I was told I had a urine infection but it hasn't cleared still. Iv had bloating and back pain also mostly at night.

has anyone has a similar experience? Doctors think it could be Endemetriosis my mind keeps fearing it's cervical and they have missed it as I know it's advanced when symptoms show :( any advice would be appreciated xx

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your situation and the pain that you have been experiencing. We can't diagnose any one on the forum but it is reassuring that both your smear and your scan came back clear as did your pelvic examination.

Your smear test would have initially be tested for HPV (Human Papilloma Virus).  This is because the HPV virus is responsible for causing changes in the cells. I am sure that if the HPV virus was found you would have been called to a colposcopy clinic so I do think that this is also a reassuring sign. You can read about cervical screening on Jo's Trust website here

Urinary tract infections can also take a while to clear. Read the NHS information about how to help clear a UTI here

Endometriosis can cause a lot of pain and suffering to so many young women. Have a look at the information written by the NHS on this condition here

You may also want to look at the endometriosis UK charity where you may be able to get in touch with others who have a similar condition. Have a look at their details here

It may help to read the various links and to connect with others who are having similar pains.

Even though it can be helpful talking to others on Cancer Chat everyone's situation is very different and so it is difficult to compare one person with another.

Try if you can not to think the worst.

I hope that you are able to get on top of this pain.

Do go back and discuss this with your GP if you are having problems managing the discomfort.

    Take Care,

    Catherine
