Hi ploppy I had my lumpectomy at the end of February and finishes radiotherapy in June and my breast is still swollen and tender. When I spoke to my nurse she said it can take 12 months to settle and have to say it is getting better. She told me it’s to do with the scar tissues . Hope this helps, xxx nicky x

Thanks Nicky for your reply, such a relief to hear it's all normal. I did email my breast nurse but she isn't very pleasant and just said what might be normal for you may not be normal for someone else, ok then!!

I had my lumpectomy in jan and still have a pretty painful boob....can't even begin to imagine having my mammogram in jan .....ouchy!

Oh Marlyn, yes that's a thought, fingers crossed it will be a bit better by then and not hurt as much, who am I kidding, they hurt anyway!!
